About Essential Pet Gear

I'm Alex Rivera, the person behind Essential Pet Gear. I'm a pet owner who got tired of buying gear that fell apart in a week or got ignored after a day. The reviews all looked the same, four and a half stars on everything, and none of them told me which toy would actually survive a determined chewer or get any use from a bored cat. So I started doing the comparison work myself and writing down the catch.

Every guide is organized by species and by the actual problem you're trying to solve, with picks based on what holds up, not what's trending this week. Some picks are gear I sell directly through my own shop; others are affiliate links to Amazon. Either way, I tell you which is which, and revenue never changes how I rank a pick or whether I name its flaws.

How I choose

Short version: I curate from real product listings and customer reviews, compare each pick against others in the same category using the same criteria, and name who each product is notfor.
